Who it's for

The archive is restricted to healthcare professionals — clinicians, trainees, and researchers — with a legitimate professional interest in pediatric pulmonology. Registration requires a brief self-attestation to that effect. Access is free.

Provenance and stewardship

The correspondence in this archive consists of email messages received by Satyanarayan Hegde, M.D., as a subscribed member of the Ped-Lung listserv. The listserv was — and remains — a privately operated, non-institutional professional forum. No restrictive terms have been placed on subscribers' handling of received messages. As recipient of his own email, the operator has full authority over how those messages are preserved and shared.

The decision to gate this archive behind professional registration, to require attestation, to log every access, and to honor takedown requests is not a response to any restriction on the underlying correspondence. It is a discipline adopted out of an abundance of caution. The material is appropriate for a professional audience and deserves to be preserved; the same material does not belong on the open internet, and is not made available there. The gate exists to make that distinction explicit.

How it's governed

Every access of every thread is logged. Contributors or affected parties may request that a thread be retracted; retraction is honored on request, without need for further justification. The archive does not redistribute material outside the gated registration wall.

Correspondence among colleagues, preserved with the care correspondence among colleagues deserves.
